We crafted a German smoked lager brewed with whole oysters for two charity events. The beer has a nice clean smoky character that is complemented with the briny, umami, and mineral character of the oysters.
The first charity event on October 22nd, 2017, is The Virginia Oyster Shell Recycling Program’s Annual Shell Raiser Shindig. A great event where you will get to taste Virginia’s tops chef’s, brewer’s, and winemaker’s products while supporting Chesapeake Bay Restoration.
The second charity event on October 30th, 2017 is a Charity Taproom Dinner featuring chef Joe Sparatta of Heritage and supporting the NRDC. This is a rare opportunity to support and learn about the vital work being conducted by the Natural Resources Defense Council. NRDC is an international, nonprofit environmental organization with more than a million members and online activists. NRDC often works in partnership with industry and other organizations to achieve common goals and to raise awareness about clean water! NRDC was founded over 45 years ago and played a major role in shaping the Clean Water Act, one of our nation’s bedrock environmental laws, and continue to work with federal, state, and local governments, as well as industry and nonprofit organizations, to ensure America’s waters are safe and sufficient for fishing, swimming, and use as drinking water supplies. NRDC works to safeguard the earth—its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends. Register for the Dinner here.
